I am honored to serve as Principal at Immanuel Lutheran School. I have worked in Education since 1994, serving in Lutheran Schools for more than15 years. Through the years I have been blessed to work in a variety of educational settings. I love to read, go hiking and spend time with my family.

My favorite Bible verse is Matthew 5:16:

“In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”

Julie Bobbitt
Office Manager

My son, Jesse, has been in school at ILS since PK 4 and is a proud member of ILS class of 2023. For more than a decade, I was a logistics specialist (office manager for hospital units) at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital for multiple cost centers. I left LBCH to focus more on my family. In 2003, I married Blake, who is a critical care paramedic at Le Bonheur. I enjoy singing, cleaning, reading, and hanging out with family.

One of my favorite Bible verses is:

James 1:2-3 Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness.

Heather Medlin

I'm so excited for this new chapter God has in store for me here at Immanuel! I have been at ILS for over 10 years starting with after-school care and then transitioned into teaching assistant for both PK3 and PK4. My husband, sister-in-law and daughter attended ILS as students. In my free time I love reading, crafting (Pinterest) and spending quality time with my family.

My favorite Bible verse is 1 Corinthians 13:4-8:

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.”

I have worked at Immanuel since May 2007. I have 2 daughters. My oldest is a graduate of Immanuel and my youngest is a current student. I am also looking forward to sharing my love of reading and research with the students and cannot wait to see how far they grow. Seeing students grow in their love of God and each other is one of my favorite things about teaching.

One of my favorite Bible verses is 1 Corinthians 13:4:

And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

I’m Kasharri Hence, I’m from Memphis, TN. I used to live in Arkansas where I attended Arkansas State University (ASU).  After attending ASU, I moved back to Memphis and continued my education at GCU. I worked for Memphis-Shelby County Schools (MSCS) with sixth, seventh and eighth graders. After working for MSCS for several years, I decided to take a journey into management and lead a team at Lowe’s as an Assistant Store Manager of operations. After two years of leadership with Lowe’s, I decided that I wanted to spend more time with my family and returned to MSCS as a first-grade teacher. My goal as an educator is to make all of my students feel like they have the ability to succeed. Most of my spare time is spent with my children, Nekko and Narrell, who both attend school at ILS. We enjoy sports and go to basketball, soccer, baseball games. Narrell wants to be a soccer player when he grows up, and Nekko wants to be a baseball player. I do my best to encourage them and show them what they’re capable of!

Becki Pollan
Eighth Grade Home Room, Middle School, Art (K-8)

bpollan@ilsmemphis.com

I graduated from Michigan State University and completed the colloquy program through Concordia University.  I relocated to Memphis, where I met my husband (a native Memphian) and have taught for 29 years (19 at ILS).  My own children, a recent graduate of Mississippi State University and a senior at the University of Memphis, attended ILS from preschool through 8th grade.  In my free time I enjoy cheering for “our” school’s teams, reading, gardening, and creating art. Throughout my time at Immanuel I have held various positions.  My current position allows me the opportunity to share the subjects I am most passionate about: Art and Science. God is a focal point in both.  I believe science is the understanding of the world God created, how to use it wisely, and how to care for it.  Art is the development of our God given talents to share the beauty of that world with others.
